What is Invisalign and How Does it Work?

Invisalign is a teeth alignment method that uses a set of aligners that are comfortable, invisible and easily removable. This means that you can freely smile during and after the treatment is done, no need to hide your braces. They are made using the latest computer imaging technology which is very effective. 

Invisalign works by wearing a set of aligners for up to two weeks, during which you can only remove them to brush your teeth or to eat and drink. Every time you wear a new aligner, your teeth will continue to be moved as the weeks go by until they reach their final position as prescribed by us during your assessment.

The aligners move the teeth by applying precise force to accomplish a controlled movement of the tooth. Contrary to brackets, Invisalign doesn’t just control the degree of movement that each aligner will make, but also how long this movement takes.

That’s why each stage only allows for certain teeth to move, according to the treatment plan we will customize for you. As a result, you get an efficient force application system that moves the teeth to the planned desired position.

You will need to visit us about once every six weeks to make sure your treatment is progressing as expected. Invisalign treatments usually last between nine to fifteen months, during which you will use between eighteen to thirty aligners. However, it’s important to remember that both numbers might change depending on your particular case.
